The Freemasons
The Freemasons are a fraternal organisation that dates back to the later half of the 13th century, making them the oldest known fraternal organisation in the world. Highly enigmatic in their practices and purpose, the group have been the subject of endless conspiracy, including everything from pulling the strings of government and planning assassinations. Historical figures such as the Founding Fathers, politicians, and celebrities of past and present have been suspected of being members of this male-exclusive organisation.
Plumb Lodge 862
Plumb Lodge 862, home to the Freemasons, was chartered by James C. Robinson in 1916. Initially, meetings were held at Kelley’s Hall, a saloon fondly referred to as their second home.
From early September 1916 to April 1917, meetings were relocated to Jacob’s School to accommodate the growing membership. With a rising number of engaging members, the need for more space became evident.
The final move took place in 1960 when Plumb Lodge 862 established its new home at F&AM Hall, located at 6919 Applegate Lane in Louisville, KY.
