2.0931 ANGELUS AUTOMATIC, SWISS 1950s

£390.00

Angelus is a Swiss ‘Hall of horological fame’ brand and has a long history of making movement complications including chronographs, alarms, repeaters , specialist functions and military watches.

This watch has an unusually high domed dial and hands, showcasing some lovely late-40s design aesthetics. This piece is in really rare condition for its age featuring a mild patina on the gold plated case.

The dial has applied ‘Calatrava’ bullet indexes accompanied by small lume pips and luminous hands. We have also replaced the old radium lume paint with a safe modern lume compound allowing for this watch to glow the same as before without any of the radioactive danger.

This watch is driven by an early version automatic A.Schild movement (AS 1555) which features a very reliable self-winding system – now fully serviced with a 12 month warranty.

About Angelus

Angelus Watch Company was founded in 1891 by Stolz freres (brothers). The company’s main profile was advanced movements with chronograph, split-chronograph, repeater, alarm, self-striking and calendar functions. Serial production with high Swiss-standard quality allowed Angelus Watch Co to acquire a significant share of the watch market. Angelus pocket alarms are notably valuable on antique market due to true high quality and pleasing sound of alarm.
