Key Features
This Submariner is a very special piece, now a memento from its original owner, Ronald ‘R.G.A’ Lord. He was a sea cadet on the BP Tanker ship Signal (pictured in gallery) in 1964, and was awarded this as a prize for his aptitude in navigating in 1968. Our sources tell us that he was a particularly sharp navigator, and after being awarded went on to complete his cadetship and pass his Mates certificate (3M, the first on the way to Captain).
Beyond this unique characteristic, this Submariner has all the trappings of its watch kin. Watertight Oyster steel case, stainless steel bracelet with clasp, Rolex’s patented Perpetual motor. There is minimal wear overall, some scratches on the bezel, but otherwise this watch is in remarkable condition.
