Key Features
This vintage Rodania features a gorgeous, deep blue sunburst dial you could practically dive into, which seems to spill out beyond the case into the alligator style blue strap we’ve paired it with. Moving it around has a delightful effect as the light plays off it. The applied steel indices and baton style hands are nicely legible as they contrast against the dial, and the date indicator is well proportioned. This watch has a sturdy looking case, brushed stainless steel and tonneau (barrel) shaped, but it is still a very wearable 34mm and conforms nicely to the wrist. Powered by a reliable Swiss automatic movement with a quickset date, an unusual and advanced feature for its 1969-1973 production date.
About Rodania
Rodania was founded in 1930 in the Swiss canton of Bern by Hans Baumgartner. In the fifties, an international distribution center was set up in Brussels and became the worldwide salespoint. In 1955 Hans Baumgartner entrusted the international management to a young and dynamic entrepreneur. His name was Manfred Aebi. This Swiss national lived in Belgium with his family. In 1995 Manfred Aebi bought the company and moved the official seat of Rodania to undertake all the logistic activities from Brussels. In 2020 the Rodania brand name was bought by 3 entrepreneurs from the Swiss and Belgian watch scene.
