Navigational deck chronometer from WW2 era, manufactured by EMT (Emile Mathey Tissot) for Bravingtons London – a major chronometry supplier for the Royal Army and Navy. Deck chronometers were in use by Royal Navy Hydrographic services and as a secondary chronometer on decks of large warships. We can see this kind of EMT deck chronometers in military service from the late 1930s, then after WW2 they were repurposed to civil and hydrographic services, serviced tested and used until late 1970s. Rarely seen stainless steel case, not nickel/chrome but solid hard steel. Screwdown type bezel and caseback. Little wear, great unrestored condition. Original enamel dial in perfect condition. original blued steel hands, all unrestored. Highest quality EMT Tissot movement, central sweep seconds feature.
