A very attractive Oris Super from around 1970, with a clean silver sunburst dial, bold black-and-silver hour markers and a bright red centre seconds hand. At 34 mm, the watch is noticeably larger than many hand-wound Oris models of the period and has a very balanced size on the wrist.
This is an interesting later generation of the Oris Super. Instead of the simpler pin-lever movements commonly found in earlier Oris watches, this example is fitted with a 17-jewel A. Schild AS 1950/51 family Swiss lever movement, signed ORIS WATCH Co. The no-date layout keeps the watch simple and gives the dial a particularly clean appearance.
The silver sunburst dial combines applied baton markers with large Arabic numerals at 12, 3, 6 and 9. Black detailing on the indices and hands gives excellent contrast, while the red seconds hand adds a small sporty accent. The dial is marked T SWISS MADE T and retains old tritium-based luminous material in the hands and small dots beside the hour markers. No radiation is detected from the old lume.
The chrome-plated case is preserved in good condition, with angular lugs and an ORIS-signed crown. It is fitted with a stainless steel snap-on caseback; the inside is stamped 3856 / 3857. A high domed acrylic crystal completes the typical late-1960s / early-1970s appearance.
The watch comes with its original period Oris presentation box and Oris hang tag, making it a particularly nice complete vintage set.

The Oris Super line represents an important and very recognisable part of mid-century Oris production. These watches were practical, honest Swiss wristwatches with distinctive in-house Oris movements and strong dial design. They were never trying to be high-luxury chronometers; instead, they offered durable, accessible Swiss watchmaking with plenty of personality – exactly why these pieces remain interesting today.

The watch is fitted with the FHF/ST 1950/51 manual-wind movement, marked Oris Watch Co, Seventeen 17 Jewels, Swiss. This is a reliable and well-proven Swiss calibre, suitable for daily use.
