A Swiss Roamer calendar watch from the 1950s, combining a day window at twelve with a red pointer hand that reads the date around the edge of the dial. The small seconds display at six balances the day aperture, giving this compact watch a distinctive and practical layout.
The original silver-tone dial has developed a fine speckled patina, complemented by aged luminous Arabic numerals and gold-tone hands. Old luminous paint has been replaced with new safe lume, aged to look true vintage.
About Roamer
Roamer traces its roots to Fritz Meyer’s workshop, founded in Solothurn, Switzerland, in 1888. The business developed into Meyer & Stüdeli, known for its own MST movements, and expanded into making cases and dials as well as complete watches. This calendar model reflects that tradition of Swiss mechanical watchmaking, with an MST movement behind its distinctive day-and-date display.
The date is adjusted using the case pusher near two o’clock. The day can be advanced by moving the hands back and forth between approximately 9 pm and midnight. The stated power reserve is approximately 30-35 hours when fully wound.
Recorded workshop testing: a two-week cyclic test gave an average timekeeping range of 25-40 seconds per day.
