Key Features

Moderately large 14K gold Henry Moser with enamel dial, perfect 38mm size for the wrist!

Hy Moser is a famous and successfully developing Swiss independent watch brand. Since 1860’s Hy Moser has been highly regarded in the Imperial Russian market and as a result, here we can see Russian hallmarks on the dust cover.
Typically, gold wrist watch size for 1900-1910s is about 30-32 mm. This 38mm piece accommodates many wrist sizes and is perfect for everyday wear
Early ‘antique’ type wristwatch case with olive pieces for wire lugs. It still resembles a pocket watch shape and construction featuring hinged double back cover with signed dustproof cover. Swiss hallmarks for 14K gold, Russian Imperial hallmarks 56 gold, ‘HY MOSER & CIE’ hallmark and Moser crest hallmark.
The watch itself is quite worn for its 100+ year age, but features an exceptionally preserved enamel dial.

Finely finished movement based on LeCoultre & Cie ebauche blank, bearing ‘H.Moser’ crest hallmark between bridges (please see photo). Serial number is not the same as case, we reckon that movement has been replaced at some point.

For complicated watch fans and collectors, this rare early HY MOSER & CIE wristwatch is a sought after collectible item in great condition. Nowadays Hy Moser & Cie is a famous top-ten independent watch manufacturer. The case is nickel, and of a rare size – larger than the standard for this type of timepiece.

It features a fully labelled dial and movement with the Hy Moser & Cie signature, an original enamel dial, and an original unusual sized case. Everything is well-presented in original vintage condition, and has been recently serviced with great timekeeping.

The case is good-quality and unpolished. the inner dust cover needs repair, it can be detached and reattached (does not affect on functioning).

About Hy Moser & Cie

Hy Moser & Cie was founded in 1826 by Johann Heinrich Moser. Moser’s factory produced a wide range of pocket watches for both men and women in a large variety of different types and styles, they became so popular that the company began to have a consistent problem with counterfeits. In 1868, Moser, together with the American Florentino-Ariosto Jones, created a new watch company called the ‘International Watch Company’, which became a pioneer of the industrial production of watches in Switzerland.

The Hy Moser & Cie factory was revived in Schaffhausen, Switzerland in 2005, and is now among the top ten independent watch manufactories. It produces interesting luxury watches with intricate dials as well as complicated movements . Remarkably, the designs from the original samples of vintage Moser movements are echoed in the basic style and shape of the movements produced today.
