Elegant, understated, and technically more interesting than many watches of its class, this Oris Super from the 1970s is a strong example of why selected vintage Oris models deserve serious attention. With its glossy black dial, warm gold-plated case, and sharp faceted markers, it has the classic dress-watch appeal of the period, while the in-house Oris 482KIF movement offers the kind of proper jewelled Swiss lever construction that makes it a practical vintage watch for regular use.
The watch is in excellent vintage condition. The gold-plated case presents very well, with only light signs of age consistent with careful use. The glossy black dial is especially attractive, with a rich deep tone, clean printing, and elegant gold cutout indices. The movement is in very good mechanical condition, having been serviced in our workshop and tested for dependable performance.

About This Oris Super
Vintage Oris watches are desirable not only because of the brand’s long-standing reputation, but also because of the company’s use of in-house movements. At the same time, many vintage Oris calibres used pin-lever escapements, which are generally less refined and less satisfactory in practical use than a proper Swiss lever movement.
That is exactly why this example stands out. Powered by the Oris 482KIF, it belongs to the rarer and more collectible group of vintage Oris watches fitted with a fully jewelled Swiss lever escapement. Combined with the KIF antishock system and recent servicing in our workshop, it offers a notably better ownership experience than the average period Oris.
Servicing and Warranty
Fully serviced with disassembly in our Bristol shop
This watch is fitted with the Oris 482KIF, a manually wound in-house movement with 17 jewels and KIF shock protection. More importantly, it uses a proper ruby jewelled Swiss lever escapement rather than the pin-lever system found in many lower-grade vintage Oris watches. After servicing, the movement performs as a reliable and enjoyable everyday vintage calibre, while retaining the appeal of a true period Oris manufacture movement.
