A striking vintage Regency distinguished by its beautifully executed “Red Wine” gradient dial and sculptural tonneau-shaped case. This model perfectly captures the design language of the 1970s, combining bold colour, sharp geometry, and a well-proportioned case that offers excellent presence on the wrist.
Regency was a UK-Swiss watch brand (a sub-brand of Accurist Watches) active primarily in the mid-to-late 20th century, producing Swiss-made mechanical watches often paired with bold, contemporary case designs. While never positioned as a mass-market manufacturer, Regency focused on fashionable, well-built manual and automatic watches that reflected prevailing design trends – particularly during the 1960s and 1970s.
The watch is in very good vintage condition. The chrome plated case shows minimal wear with only light surface scuffs, retaining sharp lines and a clean finish. The original mineral crystal is well preserved. The dial is particularly attractive, with a rich red gradient that shifts beautifully under different lighting conditions.
The movement has been fully serviced and is running correctly. A 12-month warranty is applied.
Powered by the reliable A. Schild AS 1950/51 calibre, a widely respected Swiss movement used by many quality brands of the era. The date features a quick-set function operated by advancing the hands back to approximately 9:00 PM, a typical and practical solution for movements of this generation.
