An attractive vintage Roamer skeleton wristwatch combining a respected Swiss name with a fully openworked mechanical design. The gold-tone movement, white chapter ring, black Roman numerals and blued-style hands create a classical appearance, while the exposed mechanism gives the watch a more technical character. Unlike a simple open-heart watch that reveals only the balance, this model allows most of the mechanism to be viewed from both sides. The mainspring barrel, winding wheels, going train, escapement and balance can all be observed while the watch is running. It is almost a working diagram of a mechanical watch and is particularly interesting for anyone who wants to understand how its different components interact.
Roamer is a long-established Swiss manufacturer founded in 1888. The company became known for producing complete watches and its own MST movements, making the Roamer name an important part of Swiss industrial watchmaking history. This example combines that recognised brand with one of the most visually interesting forms of mechanical watch design.
