Key Features
This watch contains an interesting alarm mechanism whereby instead of a separate mainspring, the alarm is driven from the mainspring. A special limiting device only allows for the Alarm to use only two revolutions of the mainspring to ensure that the watch has enough for power reserve for time-keeping. The power reserve is rated at 45 hours with the alarm off and 35 hours with the alarm on. The alarm is only counterclockwise, the movement has a safety ratchet. The alarm is triggered when the bottom button-head is pulled out.
The model is relatively early and rare, produced only between 1951-58, prized by collectors and in good condition is usually found for much higher sums. The movement is fully serviceable, new factory balance axle installed, stroke is brisk and crisp, the movement comes with a 6-month warranty. Comes with custom alligator strap
The case is chrome plated, the plating is original without restoration and in good condition. Steel back cover with steel diaphragm that makes a loud alarm sound. Signed “STAINLESS STEEL BACK – 20 JEWELS – WATERPROOF” on the cover (Steel cover, 20 jewels, water resistant – but no real water resistance to expect). The crowns are all from old repair kits, no scuffs.
The watch has three crowns:
The top one is for setting the alarm hand.
The middle crown is standard for winding and setting the hands.
The lower one is not the crown, but the draw button for locking the alarm bell.

Dial and hands
- Dial is original, sand-colored, signed “JUNGHANS MINIVOX”
- three hands hours/minutes/seconds, and an alarm hand with a red triangular arrow.
- Radium lume has been replaced with a safe phosphor, glows well in the dark.
- The plexi glass is dome, original.
- Condition is fantastic and looks better on hand rather than in the photos, minimal traces of wear can be seen
Movement
- Caliber Junghans J89 movement,
- gold-plated plates and bridges, 20 jewels.
