Amazing ‘LUX’ Crystal series example by Tressa, look at this dial! Instead of being flat, the dial has a patterned ‘holographic’ texture, a style that was briefly popular in the 60s–70s and is rarely seen today. It creates the illusion that the dial is alive and constantly moving as the watch tilts.

Overall, this watch has the kind of flamboyant design you’d expect from late-60s/70s experimental Swiss brands: bold colours, unexpected materials, jewel-like textures, and a touch of sci-fi optimism. This combination of metallic gold + shimmering blue is especially photogenic.

About Tressa

Tressa was a small Swiss watch manufacturer that was in business from 1966 to 1986, where during the Quartz Crisis is was bought out by the luxury watch brand Rado Ltd. Tressa was best known for its ‘Spaceman’ and ‘Lux’ lines of watches, the latter of which often had unusual faceted crystals with technicolour dials. They did not manufacture their own movements, typically their watches had ETA or A.Schild movements powering them, both very reliable mechanisms.
