Key Features
Vintage 1970’s LA CAMIF automatic diving watch with interesting logo on the dial. This timepiece is a great size and quality, with a solid stainless steel case housing an ETA automatic movement in great condition. The dial has a charming vintage patina, enhanced even more by the silver-tone hands and indices, all with original vintage lume. Amazingly, the watch still has its original ALASKA waterproof rubber strap, still in great condition, cleaned and ready for use – and quite a collectible item in itself.
About Camif
CAMIF stands for “Coopérative des Adhérents de la Mutuelle des Instituteurs de France”. La Camif appear to have been a popular French brand in the 1960’s and 70’s. In around 1972 the logo that you see on this timepiece replaced the word CAMIF on the watches and chronographs sold by this C ooperative des A dhérents de la M utuelle des I nstitutors de F rance. Nowadays it’s a big French store, like METRO.
