This macabre yet beautiful Memento Mori themed timepiece is definitely not something you’ll see everyday! The watch features a stunning, hand-engraved sterling silver dial, with hand-made blued steel hands and a real tourbillon movement, the seconds running and tourbillon carriage all visible via the see-through dial aperture. The case is an unusual type, with a hinged top strap link, causing the watch to hug the wrist more comfortably.
The phrase “Memento mori” is Latin for: “remember you will die.” … The basic idea of this philosophy is that if people remember that death, for everyone, is inescapable, they will endeavour to live their lives to the fullest, to live in the present, and to take advantage of the opportunities presented to them, rather than putting them off until later. The phrase has its origins in ancient Rome, where it is believed that slaves accompanying generals on victory parades whispered those words to them as a reminder of their commander’s mortality, and to prevent them from being consumed by excessive living and pride.
Customisation is included in the price – we can change the tone of the hands, and engrave inscriptions on the case.

This timepiece has been serviced with full disassembly in our Bristol workshop. There is a 12-month guarantee, subject to the usage and care guidelines. Comes with genuine leather strap.
