Key Features

A vintage, original measuring device (curvimeter), used to measure the distance of a curved line on a map. To measure the distance the wheel is run over the relevant road on a flat surface. The hand can indicate inches to 1 mile, nautical miles, kilometres, and statute miles. Highbury Corner Motors were a small car dealership in Islington, who not only distributed cars, but also paper maps and instruments for travel – such as this curvimeter. This instrument is a fun little piece of the past – but it also still works perfectly, great and collectible vintage tool.

The piece features a double-sided measuring display and ‘Highbury Corner Motors’ inscription.
