Historical & antiquarian notes

Guinand Freres (brothers) is old family-type manufacture from Switzerland. Guinand horological dynasty included more than 50 officially registered master watchmakers. Almost every small family workshops and manufactures were overtaken by huge watchmaking unions in 1890-1900s, but interesting watches from independent makers still can be found on antique market.

This movement originally was produced in 1880s as small gold jacket-type pocket watch. Movement is lever type based on LeCoultre & Co ebauche. Upper-middle class with nice Geneve finish.
